Trust me. I’ve been there. I still go there sometimes. Being someone with so many things I want to do and having social media out there ready to give me a hearty slap on the face with comparison in all of those subjects, it gets a little tough to stay positive sometimes. Throughout the years though, I’ve come to realize something that I find extremely necessary and special.
This life was not meant to be taken so seriously. It was meant to be lived and to be built by your interests, your passions, your concerns, and the gifts you’ve been given. You know that saying life is a journey not a destination? Yeah, we all have a hundred times. There’s validity in that and the journey being the building blocks of each chapter of your life, and by the end of it, you’ve learned and done so many things that creates a skyscraper so high of experiences and memories of your choosing that it reaches heaven - which is ultimately the destination (or whatever your religious views may be of course). As far as I’m concerned, if you’re going to be building that enormous structure for the rest of your life, you might as well make each of those blocks worth putting down.
What I mean by this is that the last time I thought about sitting at a desk for ten hours a day made my heart shatter into itty bits because it would never be what would make me happy nor would it actually be fulfilling my purpose of being on this earth. This is when I let my dreams take the forefront and why you should too.
I know there are constant reminders of people who are doing what we want to do, and thinking, “well they’re already doing it and they’re doing it so much better than I ever would, so what’s the point?” The point is - no one can do it like you can! No one can say it like you can. No one can do anything like you can. The power of how you think and what you have to say is beyond comparable to anyone else on this earth - what excites you and lights your heart on fire is what gives your life the meaning it was meant to in the first place. This is your purpose - so you better fulfill it, or else the world will miss out. Let’s never let that happen, okay?
Because I need to hear what you have to say - so does the person across the street and the other half way around the world. No matter what medium your message and voice are relayed in - whether it’s painting, a small business, a film, a book, through dance, a song, you have to put yourself out there for the world to hear you, because what’s a gift if it’s never given? It’s like it never existed. If you are given something so beautiful and a passion to fire that talent, you’d be doing your life and your soul and those it was meant to be shared with the largest disservice you could ever imagine.
You can give yourself excuses such as, “I’m not pretty enough,” or “They have so much more experience, so many more followers,” but that never gives anything justice. I can 100% promise that you can look into that mirror and see so many beautiful things that outshine any exterior motive out there, but what you should be focusing on is your mind and your soul - because those are the things that last forever and those are the things that really make a difference. Okay?
You will always have the love of your friends. You have my support always no matter what you do. You are so miraculous and your life itself is the most beautiful and meaningful work of art out there, so please build it into the masterpiece you’ve always dreamed of. Like good ol’ Shia LaBeouf says - “just do it,” because if you don’t you might never get to live beyond the potential that was set for you.
I want to see what your heart and soul have to say. You are enough and so are your dreams. Put them out there and let the world know who you are.
